Hi my name is Tracy Hamilton. I'm from Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. The last couple of year my career has taken a real turn and is pointing straight down an elearning path. I'm not completely clear where I am heading, but am looking globally for inspiration, knowledge, what's hot, what's new, and connecting with people that are discovering the same. I work in the health care field, however I have no clinical background, and we are just beginning to move our staff in to electronic teaching world.

It appears this community may have some really great resources and certainly extremely talented people to share ideas and gain suggestion from.

Hi everyone! I wanted to have a bit of fun with my introduction so I created a Voki. It doesn't work especially well in this forum so I've parked it on my profile page. Pop by and say hi.

Hola!

K

My name is Leonor Quintana. I was born in the Basque Country (Spain) and studied to become a teacher of EFL but, when I got married and came to live in Greece 26 years ago, I started teaching Spanish instead.
I lack any formal training on these new technologies, but they have been of great help to me on a personal level and I try to make use of them in my classes.
Two sites I love are:
- Todoele: A portal for teachers of Spanish as a foreign language
- El tinglado: An experimental and collaborative blog to make use of multimedia resources for educational purposes.
Many greetings to all and congratulations to Steve Hargadon!

Konrad:

Thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure 1) that I could have foreseen some of the positive ways in which these social networks have worked, or 2) that what we think today will necessarily be true tomorrow. The introduction of read/write tools into communities of practice will be interesting to watch as more and more people are involved, and I'm curious to see how things progress. I do believe we are undergoing and will continue to undergo huge cultural shifts because "Web 2.0," and I think they have the potential to be tremendously positive. I'm fascinated by the conversations that are taking place about teaching and learning that the technology seems to have facilitated.

Take care.

Ms. Halaw,
I am in instructional technology in North Carolina and desperately want to show your fantastic video to a group of educators within our county. However, when downloaded and shown on a large screen it is hardly viewable due to a very cloudy effect. The words are determinable, but the photos are barely viewable. Do you know of anything I can do to alleviate this problem? When shown very small it is better though still not clear. It is exactly what we need for professional development and hope you can help me.

Hi, everybody!

My name is Painé Pintos. I am from Argentina, Córdoba and I really making a big effort to write -and as my teacher of English used to say- "think in english". My sincere apologies for all the mistakes Iam making (surely I´m killing the language!!... but it´s the only way to learn: the practice). Anyway... I teach Computation in a high school and i´m very interesting in all this "wave" of the Web 2.0.
As some of us know... we are not only teachers... the most of the time we are learning. so, here I go... here I am... learning how to participate in all this new -not so new for some- spaces of interchanges.
Thank you very much for this oportunity.
See you in the Blogosphere!.
Bye, bye.

Thanks for being brave. Actually, you did very well with your English. Better than my Spanish, that's to be sure!

Thanks for making the point about being learners. Very well said!

Well, Steve... if you want (or if you dare...:-) )... perhaps we can try with spanish anytime!... In the meantime... as you see -or "read"- I am persistent, so I still try with my Spanglish a little more!.
Bye, bye... and thank you for this virtual space for sharing and learn.
